The Kebbi State Government has strengthened its livestock development program by partnering with Brazil to enhance modern meat processing in the state. A Brazilian delegation of JBS SA Executives is scheduled to arrive in Birnin Kebbi on Monday to explore investment and collaboration opportunities in livestock production, meat processing, and animal health.
According to the Commissioner for Animal Health, Husbandry, and Fisheries, Mallam Kabir Usman Alaramma, the partnership between Kebbi State and Brazil will be formalized during the visit. Alaramma noted that Kebbi's reputation as a key hub for livestock activities in Africa is gaining global recognition.
"The visit portrays the growing interest in the state as a prime destination for serious investment in the agricultural and livestock sectors," Alaramma said. "This partnership is tailored to bring modern technology, expertise, and more resources to Kebbi, creating lasting benefits for the state."
The Brazilian team will be accompanied by the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Hajiya Aisha Rimi, and other officials. Alaramma emphasized that the visit underscores the successes of Governor Nasir Idris's leadership in fostering partnerships and signing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) on local and international investments.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, and the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Alhaji Hayatu Bawa, attended the news briefing.
