Kebbi Police Command Foils Armed Robbery Attempt, Kills One Suspect, Arrests Another

The Kebbi State Police Command has successfully foiled an armed robbery attempt, resulting in the death of one suspect and the arrest of another. According to a press release issued by the command, the incident occurred on December 9, 2024, at approximately 5:00 pm.

A combined team of policemen and vigilantes attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Zogirma were on routine patrol along the Tilli/Durhella forest when they encountered two suspects, Gaboje Alhaji Bello from Sabuwar Tunga village, Bunza LGA, and another individual. When approached, the suspects opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Unfortunately, Gaboje was shot dead, while Wantude Alhaji Adure from Ilorin, Kwara State, was arrested.

A locally made pistol with one live cartridge was recovered from the suspects. The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, commended the gallant performance of the officers involved and urged them to sustain the ongoing fight against crime and criminality.

CP Sani reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the peace-loving people of Kebbi State. He directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.

This development is a testament to the command's efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety in Kebbi State.
