The Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, has initiated the construction of a new Institute of Leather Management Science and Technology in Koko town, Koko Besse Local Government . This project is a result of the efforts of Prof. Muhammad Kabiru Yakubu Koko, the school principal, who has worked tirelessly to bring this institution to Koko town.
Land Donation and Support
His Majesty, the 6th King of Koko, Mohammed Bello Koko II, has donated a two-hectare land to the school, purchased with a significant amount of money, to support the construction of the institute. The people of Koko express their gratitude to Prof. Yakubu Koko and His Highness for their commitment to the project.
The new centre will feature various facilities, including:
- Staff offices
- Control room
- Leather repair room
- Equipment storage room
- Test room
- Processed material room
The construction work is expected to start soon, and the people of Koko are eagerly awaiting its completion . The project has also received support from the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, who is committed to ensuring the success of the institution and its impact on the people of Kebbi State.
