Kebbi PDP Urges State Government to Invest Locally, Not Seek Handouts Abroad

Press Release

Kebbi State PDP has advised the State Government to stop wasting public resources on frivolous foreign trips that bear no fruits to the State. Instead of looking for handouts from other countries that are not as buoyant as Nigeria, the State Government should spend resources on providing a conducive environment to attract investment.

Such resources can be channeled into establishing and equipping Trade Free Zones, International Border Markets, and resuscitating abandoned industries at Bulasa Industrial Layout.

The PDP expressed concern that key state industries - Fertilizer Blending, Ceramics Processing, Neem Processing, Golongo Quarry Company, and Cassava Process Plants - remain neglected despite pledges to improve Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) and create employment opportunities for youths.

"A conducive environment equipped with ultramodern energy, access roads, and water facilities can attract serious investors to the state, ensuring security for their investments," the PDP stated.

The party urged the state government to prioritize sustainable investments, halting unfruitful foreign trips.

Signed,
Alh. Sani Dododo (Tambarin Gwandu)
State PDP PRO.
