The wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has emphasized the importance of Muslims seeking knowledge in all fields, particularly religious education. She made this call during the Quranic graduation ceremony of 10 married women at the Kulliyatu Abubakar Majidadi Al-Islamiyya Gidan Tafida Kabi Argungu over the weekend.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris encouraged wealthy Muslims to establish educational programs and schools to impart knowledge to both children and adults, promoting a decent society and beneficial livelihood. Represented by Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Maikurata, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the First Lady donated ₦1 million to the graduands.
The First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the Islamiyya School's initiatives, including training married women in Quran memorization and Islamic studies. The occasion also featured the presentation of an award to Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris in recognition of her contributions to the school's progress.
Notable attendees included the wife of the Deputy Governor, Hajiya Aisha Umar Abubakar Tafida, and the wife of the Minister of state for Humanitarian Services, Hajiya Zainab Tanko Sanunu.
This call to action aligns with Islamic values, which place significant emphasis on seeking knowledge. As stated in the Quran, "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know?" (Az-Zumar 39:9) . The Prophet Muhammad also emphasized the importance of knowledge, saying, "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim".
