In a decisive win, incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Ondo State governorship election, securing 366,781 votes . The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, made the announcement at the State Collation Centre in Akure on Sunday.
Aiyedatiwa's closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 117,845 votes, while Abass Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came in third with 2,692 votes. Olugbenga Edema of the NNPP scored 206 votes, and Bamidele Akingboye of the SDP got 388 votes.
The election, contested by 17 political parties, saw Aiyedatiwa win in his Local Government Area of Ilaje with 24,474 votes, beating Ajayi's 3,632 votes . The full results from each local government area are as follows:
