Kaduna Central Senatorial District Senator Lawal Adamu Usman has laid the foundation for the construction of modern restrooms, solar boreholes, and overhead tanks across schools in his constituency. This initiative aims to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in primary and secondary schools, especially during school hours.
At the foundation-laying ceremony in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area, Senator Usman emphasized the importance of water in daily life. "Water is life," he said, highlighting the need for hygiene environments. The project includes: Modern Restrooms, 2 VIP toilets for 30 schools.
Solar Boreholes With 5000-liter overhead tanks, Modern teaching aids for teachers, 100 classrooms with administrative offices and modern restrooms.
Senator Usman, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Primary and Secondary Education, reiterated his commitment to leaving a legacy in education. "If you give education to a child, you have given them the best asset," he added.
School staff, Patience Kabushi Rafael and Victoria Bulus, expressed gratitude for the initiative, citing the lack of toilets in their school. "We either go to the bush or wait until we go back home," they said. The new facilities and instructional materials will ease their work.
