FUBK Holds 1st and 5th Convocation, Honors High-Profile Nigerians

Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) is marking its 1st and 5th graduation ceremony, coinciding with its 10th anniversary. The university will confer Honorary Doctorate degrees on four distinguished Nigerians:

- Alhaji Saidu Dakingari, former Kebbi Governor
- Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, Founder/Chairman, Oriental Energy Resources Limited
- Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman, Zinox Group
- Ambassador Alhaji Abubakar Sani (Makaman Sokoto)

The convocation covers graduates from 2017/2018 to 2021/2022 academic sessions. Notable attendees include:

- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (represented by Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, State Minister of Education)
- Deputy Governor of Borno
- Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central Senatorial District)
- Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council
- University Chancellor, Obi of Obinugwu, Eze Dr. Cletus Ikechukwu (CON)
- Professors from within and outside the university community

- Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, a renowned diplomat and academic, a former President of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, effective from September 17, 2019, to September 15, 2020. He was elected to this position on June 4, 2019, while serving as Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. 
As a distinguished scholar, Professor Muhammad -Bande has had an illustrious career, holding various esteemed positions, including:
- Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodio University (2004-2009)
- Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (2010-2016)
- Director-General of the African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (2000-2004)

He has also taught at Usman Danfodio University, rising to the rank of Professor in 1998 .
