Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has dissolved the 44 Local Government Sole Administrators, effective immediately, marking the end of their six-month tenure . This decision was announced on Tuesday and directs the local government heads to hand over to their respective directors.
The dissolution comes after a contentious session in the Kano Legislative Assembly, where a request for a two-month extension for the administrators was met with opposition from the Minority Leader, sparking a heated debate. The disagreement led to the Minority Leader's departure from the parliament.
The Kano State House of Assembly, comprising 40 members representing 44 local government areas, is currently led by Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore and Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu .
