A scholarship committee, chaired by Professor Umar Ahmad Sanda, has disqualified four students from Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) from benefiting from Senator Garba Musa Maidoki's scholarship on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi. The reason for the disqualification varied, with four students being disqualified due to document inconsistencies.

According to Professor Sanda, the required documents for the scholarship included JAMB Slip, local government indigene letter, National identity cards, offer of admission, and university identity cards. However, the disqualified students presented documents with conflicting information, claiming Fakai, Danko Wasagu, and Yauri local government areas of origin but showing Birnin Kebbi local government, Niger, and Kano states, respectively.

Additionally, two students attempted to bypass the screening process by trying to collect scholarships for their friends and sisters . Fortunately, they were caught during the initial screening stage.

Professor Sanda praised the committee members for their diligence and hard work, emphasizing the importance of transparency in the selection process . He advised students to self-disqualify if they lack the required documents, warning that the screening process would detect any discrepancies.

The committee chairman also expressed gratitude to Senator Maidoki for his commitment to empowering youths through educational empowerment program. Senator Maidoki represents Kebbi South Senatorial District.
