Kebbi Govt Distributes 1,500 Bags of Rice as Ramadan Palliatives to Students, Unions

The Kebbi State Government has distributed 1,500 bags of rice to students' union leaders and associations across the state as part of its Ramadan Palliative package. The gesture, donated by Governor Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, was flagged off by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Students' Matters, Hon. Muhammad Muhammad Majo.

"We are here today to witness the distribution of Ramadan Palliatives donated by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, a true leader who believes in investing in younger people and students," Majo said. "This is a milestone achievement, providing massive Ramadan Palliatives to students' union leaders across the state."

Majo assured that the palliatives would reach the real beneficiaries, warning union leaders to ensure fair distribution. "We will not hesitate to take necessary action against any leader involved in dishonesty or diversion of palliatives," he said. "I urge you to do the right thing and justify the confidence reposed in you."

Majo expressed gratitude to the governor on behalf of the students and their leaders, saying, "We want to assure His Excellency of our total commitment and support to his administration. We pledge to vote for him for a second term in office come 2027."

National President of the Students' Union, Comrade Ahijo Muhammad Bakuwai, thanked the governor for the gesture, saying, "This is a history-making moment, as we have never been included in Ramadan Palliatives until this present administration. We assure you of our full support, and we will ensure all students across the state vote for you in 2027. The palliatives will get to all members who are the major beneficiaries, God willing."

The beneficiaries of the palliatives include the Kebbi State National Union of Students, Kebbi State Students' Union, Emirates-based associations, SUG Presidents, NANS Joint Campus Committee, Muslim Students' Society, and other student-based support organizations.
