ZARIA - The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Adamu Ahmed, has commended the Equipment Maintenance and Development Centre, EMDC, for repairing electric motorcycles used by the university’s security personnel.

Professor Ahmed gave the commendation on Friday during the formal handing over ceremony of the refurbished motorcycles held at the EMDC, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.

He said the initiative aligns with his administration’s commitment to providing a conducive working environment for staff and students of the university.
"The administration remains committed to creating a conducive atmosphere and working conditions in the university," Ahmed said.

"We appreciate the Equipment Maintenance and Development Centre for repairing the electric motorcycles used by our security personnel on campus," he added.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the gesture would help entrench a culture of maintenance among staff and students.
"This initiative will continue to promote a culture of maintenance within the university community," he said.

"These repaired motorcycles will enhance the efficiency of our security personnel and enable them to respond promptly to security situations across the campus," he stated.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of EMDC, Dr. Abdussalam Isma’ila Galadima, urged staff of the centre to sustain their dedication to technical service delivery.
"I urge the staff of the centre to maintain the tempo and remain committed to providing technical support to the university," Galadima said.

The repaired motorcycles are expected to boost mobility and response time for the university’s security operatives patrolling the vast ABU campuses.
